This writing style jumps around a lot so its hard to keep up with what's going on, you just have to really pay attention lol. It sounds like it's going to be a case of cat and mouse, of being unable to run away from your life and the lies you've told. The house in Devon has had its pasts and this one starts at the beginning of WWII through a wonderful back-and-forth style of telling the story, we are gradually led to fill in the gaps and to have the mystery solved. It focused more on the constant fear and spoke a lot about people's reaction to the massive change which was refreshing.

I didn’t think I was going to like this when I first started this book but I’ve always enjoyed this authors books so decided to continue and I’m very glad I did.I found this incredibly interesting as I haven’t come across this term before, but it is the idea that when somebody commits a crime their family/friends or even victims are condemned in addition to the perpetrators. Jane's latest novel 'Coming To Find You' reached number 7 in the Sunday Times in June 2023 and is being published by Doubleday in the USA and Canada on December 19th 2023.

This book followed the same format, Nancy's present day story at Tall Trees and a story set during the war at Tall Trees with Elizabeth's relationships with her husband, evacuees and Mr Smith.Using some historical facts the author has woven a tale of three generations that have lived in the house. Coming to Find You splits into two parallel stories set in the same location, one in the present, the other during WW2.

It all comes together as you'd expect and weaves into a single story which satisfies the curiosities I had about where people ended up. Big Thank you to Netgalley and Penguin General UK - Fig Tree, Hamish Hamilton, Viking, Penguin Life, Penguin Business for my copy. I have read many of this author’s books and found this one to be very original, blending a modern-day psychological thriller with historical fiction. A modern day tragedy sees Nancy fleeing to Devon to take refuge from the media, to Tall Chimneys in Sidmouth. What are the secrets that tie the two women to the house and will past secrets come back to haunt them.

Determined to disappear, Nancy flees to the seaside in Devon, to Tall Chimneys, her grandmother’s secluded inn–a place that holds many dark wartime secrets. Some parts worked better for me than others but, all in all, this is an engaging, easy, and enjoyable read, perfect for those summer days by the pool. Wow what can I say this book was amazing, it was a fast paced and kept me guessing throughout a perfect book for psychological thrillers fans alike!
