Description

Themes of decay and death are constant in the story, personified in the ghostly Watcher, effectively a harbinger of the Fourth Doctor's 'death'. It's just shorter, so you can feel close to the world's longest-running sci-fi TV series whether you're on Skaro, Karn, Pluto, or plain old Earth! There is a little wiggle room in the gauge of these, but you should not experience any radical differences. Side note: Someone on the Stitches group recently posted a lineup of this yarn which replaced Charcoal with Stone for the grey and Goldenrod with Golden Honey for the yellow. In the Day of the Doctor 50th Anniversary special the character of Osgood wore a scarf reminiscent of the Tom Baker scarf.

After the conclusion of the quest, Romana regenerates into a new form (portrayed then by Lalla Ward) ( Destiny of the Daleks). Materials: In chunky yarn: 3 X 50gm balls of cream; 4 X 50gm balls of darkbrown; 3 X 50gm balls of brick; 2 X 50gm balls of beige; 2 X 50gm balls ofgrey; 2 X 50gm balls of maroon; 2 X 50gm balls of rust. Given Time Lord intellect, what if they used base 60 like they did in Babylon and much of the ancient world.

This incarnation is generally regarded as one of the most recognisable of the Doctors and one of the most popular, especially in the United States. On the Nerva station, the Fourth Doctor made an unsuccessful attempt to use the scarf to deactivate the Auto guard. The colors presented do not to significantly vary from the Shada scarf in its present state and do not make the subtle distinctions between the original and stunt portions (possibly something to do later). If I finish this, I’m hoping for 10–14 feet as I am only 5′4″ tall, it will be my crowning craft achievement!

Matt over at the Stitches group on Facebook had the opportunity to examine the SHADA scarf (June 2014) and he came back with much interesting info. After his fourth regeneration, the Fifth Doctor unravelled his crimson and violet scarf in the TARDIS' corridors, allowing his companions to follow him. This is a must for any Whovian, and a great way to show your credentials (even better for me is that I have curly afro hair not too dissimilar from Tom Baker's!While he exclaimed that he was caught in a force field, Sarah Jane Smith patiently worked to disentangle it. He was also seen as an echo running past Clara inside the Eleventh Doctor's time stream in the end of "The Name of the Doctor. I have to admit, I’m not really good at it, the only things I’m able to do are scarves, and most of those I’ve started, I never finished them… but hey, it’s better than nothing, right? Also in Italy, where most of the classic series of Doctor Who were never broadcast on television, the only episodes to be broadcast were those of the Fourth Doctor. I’m excited to try my hand at another Who scarf with this new (to me) crochet stitch, mainly because it looks so much like knitting, you would have to look very closely at it to tell the difference!
