Once the series became an unexpected success, Square-Enix (Squaresoft at the time) started taking more risks. Not only do I believe that Square-Enix is protective of their own intellectual property, but I also believe that they are currently making more money crafting and commissioning their own figurines and Funko Pop-like collectibles than they would be if they negotiated a licensing deal with Funko. Remarkably detailed craftsmanship and high-quality materials help create a figure that is just as haunting as it is breathtaking. This combination of masterful storytelling and deep gameplay has kept the franchise in the collections of many gamers worldwide.
